The wicked is one who declares [his sins] openly
الْفَاجِرُ مُجَاهِرٌ

Persistence [in sinning] is the practice of the depraved

Wickedness is from the traits of the disbelievers

Refrain from exposing [your] sins, for this is one of the worst of offences

Verily the wicked comprise of all the oppressive and treacherous people

Three things are the disgrace of religion: lewdness, treachery and betrayal [of trust]

The cause of immorality is seclusion

The worst person is one who does not care if people see him doing evil

Adultery has become the key to lineage in the world (or among the people), chastity is rare and Islam is worn the wrong way up like fur
صَارَ الْفُسُوقُ فِي الدُّنْيَا نَسَباً وَالْعَفَافُ عَجَباً وَلَبِسَ الْإِسْلَامُ لُبْسَ الْفَرْوِ مَقْلُوباً

Flee far away from the wicked, immoral one
فِرُّوا كُلَّ الْفِرَارِ مِنَ الْفَاجِرِ الْفَاسِقِ

The virtuous one does not seek justice from the vicious

One who is persistent in his sin shows audacity in front of the wrath of his Lord
لَا وِزْرَ أَعْظَمُ مِنَ التَّبَجُّحِ بِالْفُجُورِ

It behoves one who knows the wicked not to act like them
يَنْبَغِي لِمَنْ عَرَفَ الْفُجَّارَ أَنْ لَا يَعْمَلَ عَمَلَهُمْ

The immoral person has no [sense of] caution.

God-wariness dignifies, immorality disgraces

Beware of immoral gatherings, for indeed they anger the Most Merciful and take you to the fire of hell
إِيَّاكَ وَمَحَاضِرَ الْفُسُوقِ فَإِنَّهَا مُسْخِطَةٌ لِلرَّحْمَنِ مُصْلِيَةٌ لِلنِّيرَانِ

The thing that brings the quickest punishment is a false oath
أَسْرَعُ شَيْءٍ عُقُوبَةً الْيَمِينُ الْفَاجِرَةُ

Verily God-wariness is a strong fortress [of protection] for the one who takes refuge in it, and impiety is the dilapidated fortress [of humiliation] which does not protect its people and does not offer security to the one who takes refuge in it
الْفُجُورُ دَارُ حِصْنٍ ذَلِيلٍ لَا يَمْنَعُ أَهْلَهُ وَلَا يُحْرِزُ مَنْ لَجَأَ إِلَيْهِ

There is no affluence with immorality
لَيْسَ مَعَ الْفُجُورِ غَنَاءٌ

There is no trustworthiness in an incessant liar and there is no safeguarding [from sin] in the morally corrupt
لَيْسَ لِكَذُوبٍ أَمَانَةٌ وَلَا لِفَجُورٍ صِيَانَةٌ

There is no [sin for] backbiting for the [openly] corrupt
الْفَاسِقُ لَا غِيبَةَ لَهُ

Indolence is deficiency

Lethargy is the trait of the foolish

Preferring comfort [over hard work] cuts off the means of profit [and benefit]

The bane of action is idleness

Three things weaken one’s spirit: loss of loved ones, poverty in a strange land and unending hardship
ثَلَاثٌ يَهْدُدْنَ الْقَوِيَّ فَقْدُ الْأَحِبَّةِ وَالْفَقْرُ فِي الْغُرْبَةِ وَدَوَامُ الشِّدَّةِ

Many a person sits back from that which would delight him
رُبَّ قَاعِدٍ عَمَّا يَسُرُّهُ

Be from among those who are neither overcome by violence nor affected by weakness

It is from lethargy that laziness originates
مِنَ التَّوَانِي يَتَوَلَّدُ الْكَسَلُ

Do not rely on a lazy person in your affairs

Lethargy is [a cause of] loss

One who is always lazy, his hopes get dashed

One whose diligence becomes weaker, his opponent gets stronger

One who submits to lethargy forfeits his rights

One who neglects his recourse (or natural disposition) is made to rise [towards it] by tribulations

One who submits to lethargy is encompassed by regret
