الْعِزُّ إِدْرَاكُ الِانْتِصَارِ
Glory is the attainment of [the power to exact] revenge

تَعَزَّ عَنِ الشَّيْءِ إِذَا مُنِعْتَهُ بِقِلَّةِ مَا يَصْحَبُكَ إِذَا أُوتِيتَهُ
When you are deprived of something in this world, take comfort in the fact that it would have been with you [only] for a little while

سَاعَةُ ذُلٍّ لَا تَفِي بِعِزِّ الدَّهْرِ
An hour of humiliation is not compensated for by a lifetime of honour

مَنِ اعْتَزَّ بِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ ذَلَّ
One who seeks honour through [anyone] other than Allah is abased

مَنِ اعْتَزَّ بِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ أَهْلَكَهُ الْعِزُّ
One who seeks glory through [anyone] other than Allah is destroyed by [the] glory

مَنِ اعْتَزَّ بِالْحَقِّ أَعَزَّهُ الْحَقُّ
One who seeks honour through truth will be honoured by truth

مَنْ يَطْلُبِ الْعِزَّ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ يَذِلَّ
One who seeks glory without having any right to it gets humiliated

مَنِ اعْتَزَّ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ أَذَلَّهُ اللَّهُ بِالْحَقِّ
One who seeks glory through [anything] other than truth, Allah humiliates him with [the] truth
