الصَّوَابُ مِنْ فُروعِ الرَّوِيَّةِ
Correctness is one of the branches of deliberation

الظَّفَرُ بِالْحَزْمِ وَالْحَزْمُ بِالتَّجَارِبِ
Victory is [attained] by prudence, and prudence comes through experience

إِذَا اقْتَرَنَ الْعَزْمُ بِالْحَزْمِ كَمُلَتِ السَّعَادَةُ
When judiciousness is coupled with determination, felicity becomes complete

ثَمَرَةُ الْحَزْمِ السَّلَامَةُ
The fruit of judiciousness is wellbeing

خُذْ بِالْحَزْمِ وَالْزَمِ الْعِلْمَ تُحْمَدْ عَوَاقِبُكَ
Act with judiciousness and cling to knowledge your results will be praiseworthy

الْحَزْمُ شِدَّةُ الِاسْتِظْهَارِ
Judiciousness is being extremely cautious

سِلَاحُ الْحَازِمِ الِاسْتِظْهَارُ
The weapon of a judicious person is precaution

مَنْ أَخَذَ بِالْحَزْمِ اسْتَظْهَرَ
One who acts judiciously is cautious

مَنْ لَمْ يُقَدِّمْهُ الْحَزْمُ أَخَّرَهُ الْعَجْزُ
One who is not pushed forward by judiciousness is held back by impuissance

أَلَا وَإِنَّ مَنْ تَوَرَّطَ فِي الْأُمُورِ مِنْ غَيْرِ [بِغَيْرِ] نَظَرٍ فِي الْعَوَاقِبِ فَقَدْ تَعَرَّضَ لِمُفْدِحَاتِ النَّوَائِبِ
Indeed, the one who gets involved in matters without thinking about the consequences is vulnerable to grave calamities

الْحَازِمُ يَقْظَانُ الْغَافِلُ وَسْنَانُ
The judicious one is alert, the negligent one is sleepy

التَّأَيُّدُ [التَّأْيِيدُ] حَزْمٌ
Strengthening oneself is [a sign of] judiciousness

الْحَازِمُ مَنْ دَارَى زَمَانَهُ
The judicious person is one who is amicable with [the people of] his time

الْحَازِمُ مَنِ اطَّرَحَ الْمُؤَنَ وَالْكُلَفَ
The judicious person is one who discards [excessive] expenses and luxuries

الْحَزْمُ حِفْظُ مَا كُلِّفْتَ وَتَرْكُ مَا كُفِيتَ
Judiciousness is safeguarding that which you have been charged with and leaving that which has been guaranteed for you

الْحَازِمُ مَنْ دَارَى زَمَانَهُ
The judicious person is one who is amicable with [the people of] his time

الْحَزْمُ تَجَرُّعُ الْغُصَّةِ حَتَّى تَمَكَّنَ الْفُرْصَةُ
Judiciousness means enduring agony until the opportunity [to react] avails itself

الْحَازِمُ مَنْ لَا يَشْغَلُهُ النِّعْمَةُ عَنِ الْعَمَلِ لِلْعَاقِبَةِ
The judicious person is one who does not get too preoccupied with the blessing [he has been given] to work for his afterlife

الْحَزْمُ النَّظَرُ فِي الْعَوَاقِبِ وَمُشَاوَرَةُ ذَوِي الْعُقُولِ
Judiciousness is considering the consequences [of actions] and consulting the wise

الْحَازِمُ مَنْ جَادَ بِمَا فِي يَدِهِ وَلَمْ يُؤَخِّرْ [لَا يُؤَخِّرُ] عَمَلَ يَوْمِهِ إِلَى غَدِهِ
The judicious person is one who is generous with what he has in his possession and does not postpone his work of today to tomorrow

الْحَازِمُ مَنْ لَمْ يَشْغَلْهُ غُرُورُ دُنْيَاهُ عَنِ الْعَمَلِ لِأُخْرَاهُ [لِآخِرَتِهِ]
The judicious person is one who is not too preoccupied with the deceptions of his world to work for his Hereafter

الْحَازِمُ مَنْ تَخَيَّرَ لِخُلَّتِهِ فَإِنَّ الْمَرْءَ يُوزَنُ بِخَلِيلِهِ
The truthful friend is one who advises you of your faults protects your dignity in your absence and gives you preference over himself

الْحَازِمُ مَنْ حَنَّكَتْهُ التَّجَارِبُ وَهَذَّبَتْهُ النَّوَائِبُ
The judicious person is one who has been made worldly-wise by experience and refined by calamities

الْحَازِمُ مَنْ شَكَرَ النِّعْمَةَ مُقْبِلَةً وَصَبَرَ عَنْهَا وَسَلَاهَا مُوَلِّيَةً مُدْبِرَةً [مُدْبِرَةً مُوَلِّيَةً]
The judicious person is one who gives thanks for blessings that come to him and is patient and thinks no more of it when the blessings turn away or turn back from him

الْحَازِمُ مَنْ يُؤَخِّرُ الْعُقُوبَةَ فِي سُلْطَانِ الْغَضَبِ وَيُعَجِّلُ مُكَافَاةَ الْإِحْسَانِ اغْتِنَاماً لِفُرْصَةِ الْإِمْكَانِ
The judicious person is one who delays meting out punishment when [he is] under the yoke of anger and expedites the repayment of favours by taking advantage of the available opportunity

أَحْزَمُكُمْ أَزْهَدُكُمْ
The most judicious of you is the most abstemious of you [from worldly pleasures]

أَحْزَمُ النَّاسِ مَنِ اسْتَهَانَ بِأَمْرِ دُنْيَاهُ
The most judicious of all people is one who deems his worldly affairs to be unimportant

أَحْزَمُ النَّاسِ مَنْ تَوَهَّمَ الْعَجْزَ لِفَرْطِ اسْتِظْهَارِهِ
The most judicious of people is the one who presumes his inability despite having numerous supporters

أَحْزَمُ النَّاسِ رَأْياً مَنْ أَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ وَلَمْ يُؤَخِّرْ عَمَلَ يَوْمِهِ لِغَدِهِ
The most judicious of people is the one who fulfils his promise and does not postpone his work of today to tomorrow

إِنَّ الْحَازِمَ مَنْ لَا يَغْتَرُّ بِالْخُدَعِ
Indeed the judicious person is one who does not get beguiled by deceptions

إِنَّ الْحَازِمَ مَنْ شَغَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِجِهَادِ نَفْسِهِ فَأَصْلَحَهَا وَحَبَسَهَا عَنْ أَهْوِيَتِهَا وَلَذَّاتِهَا فَمَلَكَهَا وَإِنَّ لِلْعَاقِلِ بِنَفْسِهِ عَنِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا وَأَهْلِهَا شُغُلًا
Verily the judicious person is one who occupies himself with struggling against his [lower] self, thereby rectifying it and preventing it from indulging in its vain desires and pleasures, thus he attains mastery over it; and verily for the intelligent one there is a preoccupation in keeping himself away from [that which is impermissible of] this world, its contents and its people

إِنَّ الْحَازِمَ مَنْ قَيَّدَ نَفْسَهُ بِالْمُحَاسَبَةِ وَمَلَكَهَا بِالْمُغَاضَبَةِ وَقَتَلَهَا بِالْمُجَاهَدَةِ
Verily the judicious person is one who restrains his [lower] self by taking it to account, and controls it with rage (or by overcoming it), and kills it by fighting against it.

إِنَّمَا الْحَزْمُ طَاعَةُ اللَّهِ وَمَعْصِيَةُ النَّفْسِ
Verily judiciousness is only in obedience to Allah and disobedience to the [lower] self

إِنَّمَا الْحَازِمُ مَنْ كَانَ بِنَفْسِهِ كُلُّ شُغُلِهِ وَلِدِينِهِ كُلُّ هَمِّهِ وَلِآخِرَتِهِ كُلُّ جِدِّهِ
Only he is judicious whose preoccupation is entirely with himself, whose concern is entirely for his religion, and whose struggle is entirely for his Hereafter

بِإِصَابَةِ الرَّأْيِ يَقْوَى الْحَزْمُ
Through correct opinion (or prudence), ones judiciousness is strengthened

قِلَّةُ الِاسْتِرْسَالِ إِلَى النَّاسِ أَحْزَمُ
Confiding less in people [and not telling them your secrets] is more judicious

مِنَ الْحَزْمِ الْوُقُوفُ عِنْدَ الشُّبْهَةِ
Stopping [and assessing the situation] when faced with doubt is part of judiciousness

نِعْمَ الْحَزْمُ الِاسْتِظْهَارُ
How good a foresight precaution is!

لَا يَدْهَشُ عِنْدَ الْبَلَاءِ الْحَازِمُ
The judicious one does not become perplexed in times of adversity

لَا يَكُونُ حَازِماً مَنْ لَا يَجُودُ بِمَا فِي يَدِهِ وَ لَا يُؤَخِّرُ عَمَلَ يَوْمِهِ إِلَى غَدِهِ
He who does not give generously from what he has and does not advance (or save) his work of today for his morrow is not a judicious person
