الإنصاف و مدحه
الْمُنْصِفُ كَرِيمٌ الظَّالِمُ لَئِيمٌ
The equitable person is noble whereas the oppressor is wicked

Equity is a symbol of nobility

الْإِنْصَافُ شِيمَةُ الْأَشْرَافِ
Equity is a trait of the honourable ones

الْإِنْصَافُ أَفْضَلُ الْفَضَائِلِ
Equity is the most superior of merits

الْإِنْصَافُ أَفْضَلُ الشِّيَمِ
Equity is the best of traits

الْمُؤْمِنُ [مَنْ] يُنْصِفُ مَنْ لَا يُنْصِفُهُ
A believer is fair to the one who is unfair to him

الْإِنْصَافُ مِنَ النَّفْسِ كَالْعَدْلِ فِي الْإِمْرَةِ
Being equitable with others is like being just [while] in authority

الْمُنْصِفُ كَثِيرُ الْأَوْلِيَاءِ وَالْأَوِدَّاءِ
The equitable person has many friends and intimates

أَنْصِفِ النَّاسَ مِنْ نَفْسِكَ وَأَهْلِكَ وَخَاصَّتِكَ وَمَنْ لَكَ فِيهِ هَوًى وَاعْدِلْ فِي الْعَدُوِّ وَالصَّدِيقِ
Be equitable to people over yourself, your family, your near ones and those from whom you desire something, and be just with both enemy and friend

أَجْوَرُ السِّيرَةِ أَنْ تَنْتَصِفَ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَلَا تُعَامِلْهُمْ بِهِ
The most unjust conduct is for you to seek equity from people while not dealing with them in the same way

أَعْدَلُ السِّيرَةِ أَنْ تُعَامِلَ النَّاسَ بِمَا تُحِبُّ أَنْ يُعَامِلُوكَ بِهِ
The most equitable conduct is for you to deal with people in the way you would like them to deal with you

أَعْدَلُ النَّاسِ مَنْ أَنْصَفَ مِنْ ظُلْمِهِ
The most just of all people is he who is equitable to the one who has oppressed him

أَعْدَلُ النَّاسِ مَنْ أَنْصَفَ عَنْ قُوَّةٍ وَأَعْظَمُهُمْ حِلْماً مَنْ حَلُمَ عَنْ قُدْرَةٍ
The most just of all people is he who is equitable despite having power, and the one who has the greatest clemency is he who is clement despite having authority

إِنَّ أَعْظَمَ الْمَثُوبَةِ مَثُوبَةُ الْإِنْصَافِ
Indeed the greatest reward is the reward of [justice and] equity

إِنَّكَ إِنْ أَنْصَفْتَ مِنْ نَفْسِكَ أَزْلَفَكَ اللَّهُ
Verily if you show fairness to others, Allah will bring you closer [to Him]

ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا يَنْتَصِفُونَ مِنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ أَبَداً الْعَاقِلُ مِنَ الْأَحْمَقِ وَالْبَرُّ مِنَ الْفَاجِرِ وَالْكَرِيمُ مِنَ اللَّئِيمِ
Three types of people never seek justice from three other types: the intelligent person from the fool, the virtuous from the vicious, and the noble one from the wicked

عَامِلْ سَائِرَ النَّاسِ بِالْإِنْصَافِ وَعَامِلِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِالْإِيثَارِ
Treat all the [other] people with equity but treat the believers with altruism [and prefer them over yourself]

غَايَةُ الْإِنْصَافِ أَنْ يُنْصِفَ الْمَرْءُ نَفْسَهُ
The height of equity is for a person to be equitable with himself

مَنْ تَحَلَّى بِالْإِنْصَافِ بَلَغَ مَرَاتِبَ الْأَشْرَافِ
Whoever adorns himself with equity attains the [lofty] ranks of honour

نِظَامُ الدِّينِ خَصْلَتَانِ إِنْصَافُكَ مِنْ نَفْسِكَ وَمُوَاسَاةُ إِخْوَانِكَ
The structure of religion is [based on] two qualities: your impartiality towards yourself and supporting your brethren
