الْقَنَاعَةُ رَأْسُ الْغِنَى [العنى]
Contentment is the cornerstone of prosperity

الْغَنِيُّ مَنِ اسْتَغْنَى بِالْقَنَاعَةِ
A rich person is he who becomes rich through contentment

الْغَنِيُّ مَنْ آثَرَ الْقَنَاعَةَ
A [truly] rich person is one who prefers contentment

أَخُو الْغِنَى مَنِ الْتَحَفَ بِالْقَنَاعَةِ
The brother of affluence is one who covers himself with contentment

الْقَنَاعَةُ وَالطَّاعَةُ تُوجِبَانِ الْغِنَى وَالْعِزَّةَ
Contentment and obedience bring about prosperity and honour

الْقَانِعُ غَنِيٌّ وَإِنْ جَاعَ وَعَرَى
The contented one is rich, even if he is hungry and unclothed

الْقَنَاعَةُ أَفْضَلُ الْغِنَاءَيْنِ
Contentment is the better of the two riches

أَغْنَاكُمْ أَقْنَعُكُمْ
The richest of you are the most contented among you

أَغْنَى النَّاسِ الْقَانِعُ
The wealthiest of all people is the contented one

أَغْنَى الْغِنَى الْقَنَاعَةُ وَالتَّحَمُّلُ فِي الْفَاقَةِ
The greatest of riches is contentment and toleration of poverty

إِنَّ فِي الْقُنُوعِ لَغَنَاءٌ
Verily in contentment there is prosperity

إِنَّ أَكْرَمَ [أَكْيَسَ] النَّاسِ مَنِ اقْتَنَى الْيَأْسَ وَلَزِمَ الْقُنُوعَ وَالْوَرَعَ وَبَرِئَ مِنَ الْحِرْصِ وَالطَّمَعِ فَإِنَّ الطَّمَعَ وَالْحِرْصَ الْفَقْرُ الْحَاضِرُ وَإِنَّ الْيَأْسَ وَالْقَنَاعَةَ الْغِنَى الظَّاهِرُ
Verily the most honourable of all people is one who loses hope [in others], espouses contentment and piety and is devoid of greed and covetousness, for indeed covetousness and greed are a ready indigence and verily loss of hope [in others] and contentment are a manifest affluence

إِنَّكُمْ إِنْ قَنِعْتُمْ حُزْتُمُ الْغَنَاءَ وَخَفَّتْ عَلَيْكُمْ مُؤَنُ الدُّنْيَا
Verily if you become contented you will gain independence [and affluence] and the burden of worldly provisions will become lighter for you

إِذَا طَلَبْتَ الْغِنَى فَاطْلُبْهُ بِالْقَنَاعَةِ
When you seek wealth, then seek it through contentment

ثَمَرَةُ الْقَنَاعَةِ الْغَنَاءُ
The fruit of contentment is prosperity

حَسْبُكَ مِنَ الْقَنَاعَةِ غِنَاكَ بِمَا قَسَمَ لَكَ [من] اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ
It is sufficient for your trust [in Allah] that you consider no one else as a channel for acquiring your sustenance other than Allah, the Glorified

عَلَيْكَ بِالْقُنُوعِ فَلَا شَيْءَ أَدْفَعُ لِلْفَاقَةِ مِنْهُ
You must have contentment, for indeed there is nothing that wards off poverty more than it

طُوبَى لِمَنْ ذَلَّ فِي نَفْسِهِ وَعَزَّ بِطَاعَتِهِ وَغَنِيَ بِقَنَاعَتِهِ
Blessed is he who considers himself as low, gains honour through his obedience [to Allah] and becomes free from want through his contentment

In contentment there is prosperity

قُرِنَ الْقُنُوعُ بِالْغَنَاءِ
Contentment has been paired with prosperity

كُلُّ قَانِعٍ غَنِيٌّ
Every contented one is rich

كُلُّ الْغِنَى فِي الْقَنَاعَةِ وَالرِّضَا
The whole of affluence is in contentment and satisfaction

كُنْ قَنِعاً تَكُنْ غَنِيّاً
Be contented and you will become rich

مَنْ قَنِعَ غَنِيَ
One who is content becomes rich [and independent]

مَنْ قَنِعَ شَبِعَ
One who is content gets satiated

مَنْ قَنِعَ بِقَسْمِ اللَّهِ اسْتَغْنَى
One who is contented with the allotment of Allah becomes needless

مَنْ رَضِيَ بِالْمَقُدورِ اكْتَفَى بِالْمَيْسُورِ
One who is pleased with what has been decreed becomes content with little

مَنْ قَنِعَ بِرِزْقِ اللَّهِ اسْتَغْنَى عَنِ الْخَلْقِ
One who is content with the sustenance of Allah has no need for the creation

مَنْ لَزِمَ الْقَنَاعَةَ زَالَ فَقْرُهُ
Whoever clings to contentment, his poverty disappears

مَنْ قَنِعَ بِقَسْمِ اللَّهِ اسْتَغْنَى عَنِ الْخَلْقِ
One who is contented with the allotment of Allah becomes needless of the people

مَنِ اكْتَفَى بِالْيَسِيرِ اسْتَغْنَى عَنِ الْكَثِيرِ
One who suffices with little becomes needless of plenty

نَالَ الْغِنَى مَنْ رُزِقَ الْيَأْسَ عَمَّا فِي أَيْدِي النَّاسِ وَالْقَنَاعَةَ بِمَا أُوتِيَ وَالرِّضَا بِالْقَضَاءِ
He who has been granted hopelessness in [obtaining] what people possess, contentment with what he is given and satisfaction with the divine decree has acquired affluence

There is no wealth like contentment
