السخاء سبب السيادة
الْجُودُ رِيَاسَةٌ الْمُلْكُ سِيَاسَةٌ
Generosity is [true] leadership, sovereignty is [only] administration

الْكَرَمُ أَفْضَلُ [أَشْرَفُ] السُّؤْدَدِ
Munificence is the best eminence

الْمَالُ يُكْرِمُ صَاحِبَهُ مَا بَذَلَهُ وَيُهِينُهُ مَا بَخِلَ بِهِ
Wealth honours its possessor as long as he spends it and abases him when he is miserly with it

اسْمَحْ تُكْرَمْ
Give generously and you will be honoured

أَفْضِلْ تُقَدَّمْ
Bestow goodness and you shall advance

اسْمَحْ تَسُدْ
Give generously and you shall gain authority

إِنَّمَا سَادَةُ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا [وَ الْآخِرَةِ] الْأَجْوَادُ
Verily the masters of the people of this world (and the Hereafter) are the generous

بِالْإِفْضَالِ تُعْظَمُ الْأَقْدَارُ
By doing good to others, ranks get elevated

بِالْجُودِ تَكُونُ السِّيَادَةُ
Through generosity, authority is acquired

بِالْجُودِ تَسُودُ الرِّجَالُ
Through generosity, men gain authority

بِكَثْرَةِ الِاحْتِمَالِ يَكْثُرُ الْفَضْلُ
Through increased tolerance, one’s merit (or intelligence) increases

بِالْجُودِ يُبْتَنَي الْمَجْدُ وَيُجْتَلَبُ الْحَمْدُ
Through generosity, distinction is established and praise is acquired

تَفَضَّلْ تُخْدَمْ وَاحْلُمْ تُقَدَّمْ
Do good to others and you will be served, show clemency and you will be put forward (or you will advance)

جُدْ تَسُدْ وَاصْبِرْ تَظْفَرْ
Be generous and you will gain authority; be patient and you will be triumphant

جُودُ الْفَقِيرِ يُجِلُّهُ وَبُخْلُ الْغَنِيِّ يُذِلُّهُ
The generosity of a poor person dignifies him and the stinginess of a rich person debases him

سَبَبُ السِّيَادَةِ السَّخَاءُ
The cause of ascendancy is generosity

سَادَةُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ الْأَسْخِيَاءُ وَالْمُتَّقُونَ
The chiefs of the people of Paradise are the generous and the pious

سَادَةُ النَّاسِ فِي الدُّنْيَا الْأَسْخِيَاءُ وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ الْأَتْقِيَاءُ
The eminent among the people in this world are the generous ones and in the Hereafter, the God-wary

مَنْ بَذَلَ مَالَهُ جَلَّ
One who generously gives [from] his wealth becomes great

مَنْ جَادَ سَادَ
One who is generous gains authority

لَا سِيَادَةَ لِمَنْ لَا سَخَاءَ لَهُ
There is no eminence in the one who lacks generosity
