إِخْلَاصُ الْعَمَلِ مِنْ قُوَّةِ الْيَقِينِ وَصَلَاحِ النِّيَّةِ
Sincerity in action stems from strong faith and righteous intention

قَبِيحُ عَاقِلٍ خَيْرٌ مِنْ حَسَنِ جَاهِلٍ
The ugly act of an intelligent person is better than the beautiful act of an ignorant person

عَلَى قَدْرِ الْعَقْلِ تَكُونُ الطَّاعَةُ
Obedience is proportionate to [one’s] intellect

الْعَامِلُ بِالْعِلْمِ كَالسَّائِرِ عَلَى الطَّرِيقِ الْوَاضِحِ
The one who acts with knowledge is like one who travels on the clear path

الْعَمَلُ بِلَا عِلْمٍ [بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ] ضَلَالٌ
Action without knowledge is misguidance

لَنْ يَصْفُوَ الْعَمَلُ حَتَّى يَصِحَّ الْعِلْمُ
Action will never become pure until knowledge becomes sound

لَنْ يَزْكُوَ الْعَمَلُ حَتَّى يُقَارِنَهُ الْعِلْمُ
Action will never be pure unless it is accompanied by knowledge

لَا خَيْرَ فِي الْعَمَلِ بِلَا عِلْمٍ
Action without knowledge is misguidance

There is no good in action except with knowledge

يَسِيرُ الْمَعْرِفَةِ يُوجِبُ فَسَادَ الْعَمَلِ
The smallest amount of cognizance leads to corruption of one’s actions

رَوِّ قَبْلَ الْعَمَلِ تَنْجُ مِنَ الزَّلَلِ
Deliberate before acting and you will be saved from error

قَدِّرْ ثُمَّ اقْطَعْ وَفَكِّرْ ثُمَّ انْطِقْ وَتَبَيَّنْ ثُمَّ اعْمَلْ
Measure and then cut, think and then speak, verify and then act

مَنْ فَكَّرَ قَبْلَ الْعَمَلِ كَثُرَ صَوَابُهُ
One who thinks before acting, his accuracy increases

فِكْرُكَ [ذِكْرُكَ] فِي الطَّاعَةِ يَدْعُوكَ إِلَى الْعَمَلِ بِهَا
Your thinking about worship prompts you to act upon it

ضَلَّةُ الرَّأْيِ تُفْسِدُ الْمَقَاصِدَ
Misguided opinion corrupts the goals

الْعَاقِلُ مَنْ وَقَفَ حَيْثُ عَرَفَ
The intelligent person is one who stops at what he knows

مَنْ لَمْ يُوقِنْ قَلْبُهُ لَمْ يُطِعْهُ عَمَلُهُ
One whose heart does not have certitude, his actions do not submit to it

الطُّمَأْنِينَةُ قَبْلَ الْخِبْرَةِ خِلَافُ [ضِدُّ] الْحَزْمِ
Tranquillity before [gaining] awareness [of the situation] is contrary to judiciousness

رُبَّ دَائِبٍ مُضَيِّعٌ
Many a diligent person also loses [or causes loss]

رُبَّ سَاعٍ فِيمَا يَضُرُّهُ
for that which will harm him
