آفَةُ الْعُمْرَانِ جَوْرُ السُّلْطَانِ
The bane of development and prosperity is the oppression of a tyrant

بِئْسَ السِّيَاسَةُ الْجَوْرُ
Tyranny is indeed an evil administrative policy

الْقُدْرَةُ يُزِيلُهَا الْعُدْوَانُ
Power is lost through aggression [and oppression]

فِي احْتِقَابِ الْمَظَالِمِ زَوَالُ الْقُدْرَةِ
In amassing the usurped rights [of the people] there is cessation [and loss] of power

مَنْ جَارَتْ أَقْضِيَتُهُ [قَضِيَّتُهُ] زَالَتْ قُدْرَتُهُ
One whose judgments are oppressive, his power comes to an end

مَنْ طَالَ عُدْوَانُهُ زَالَ سُلْطَانُهُ
One whose aggression is prolonged, his rule [soon] comes to an end

مَنْ جَارَتْ وِلَايَتُهُ زَالَتْ دَوْلَتُهُ
One whose rule is oppressive, his regime collapses

مَنْ عَامَلَ رَعِيَّتَهُ بِالظُّلْمِ أَزَالَ اللَّهُ مُلْكَهُ وَعَجَّلَ بَوَارَهُ وَهُلْكَهُ [هَلَاكَهُ]
Whoever treats the people unjustly, Allah causes his reign to end and hastens his ruin and destruction

الظُّلْمُ بَوَارُ الرَّعِيَّةِ
Injustice is the ruination of the populace

فِي الْجَوْرِ هَلَاكُ الرَّعِيَّةِ
The destruction of the populace is in tyranny

رَاكِبُ الظُّلْمِ يُدْرِكُهُ الْبَوَارُ
One who embarks of injustice is met with ruin

لَيْسَ شَيْءٌ أَفْسَدَ لِلْأُمُورِ وَلَا أَبْلَغَ فِي هَلَاكِ الْجُمْهُورِ مِنَ الشَّرِّ
There is nothing more corrupting for affairs or more destructive to the community than evil

مَنْ جَارَ مُلْكَهُ عَظُمَ هُلْكُهُ
One whose kingship is tyrannical, his destruction becomes great

مَنْ جَارَ فِي سُلْطَانِهِ وَأَكْثَرَ عُدْوَانَهُ هَدَمَ اللَّهُ بُنْيَانَهُ وَهَدَّ أَرْكَانَهُ
Whoever is tyrannical in his reign and increases his aggression, Allah will demolish his foundation and tear down his pillars [of kingship]

مَنْ جَارَ فِي سُلْطَانِهِ عُدَّ مِنْ عَوَادِي زَمَانِهِ

For the unjust there is reprisal.

السُّلْطَانُ الْجَائِرُ يُخِيفُ الْبَرِيءَ
The tyrant king frightens the innocent

بِئْسَ الظُّلْمُ ظُلْمُ الْمُسْتَسْلِمِ
How bad an injustice is the injustice to one who is submissive!

قُلُوبُ الرَّعِيَّةِ خَزَائِنُ رَاعِيهَا فَمَا أَوْدَعَهَا مِنْ عَدْلٍ أَوْ جَوْرٍ وَجَدَهُ
The hearts of the people are the treasuries of their leader, so whatever he deposits in them, be it justice or oppression, he will find it there

مَنْ ظَلَمَ رَعِيَّتَهُ نَصَرَ أَضْدَادَهُ
One who oppresses his people helps his enemies

The honourable one never oppresses [others]
