الْأَعْمَالُ تَسْتَقِيمُ بِالْعُمَّالِ
Works are [only] accomplished by the [right] workers

احْرُسْ مَنْزِلَتَكَ عِنْدَ سُلْطَانِكَ وَاحْذَرْ أَنْ يَحُطَّكَ عَنْهَا التَّهَاوُنُ عَنْ حَفْظِ مَا رَقَاكَ إِلَيْهِ
Guard your position near your king, and be cautious of not being lowered from it by negligence towards that which raised you to it

أَلِقْ دَوَاتَكَ وَأَطِلْ جِلْفَةَ قَلَمِكَ وَفَرِّقْ بَيْنَ سُطُورِكَ وَقَرْمِطْ بَيْنَ حُرُوفِكَ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ أَجْدَرُ بِصَبَاحَةِ الْخَطِّ
Put cotton in your inkpot, keep the nib of your pen long, leave space between your lines and keep the letters close to each other, for this makes the writing more beautiful

أَطِعْ مَنْ فَوْقَكَ يُطِعْكَ مَنْ دُونَكَ وَأَصْلِحْ سَرِيرَتَكَ يُصْلِحِ اللَّهُ عَلَانِيَتَكَ
Obey the one who is above you and the one who is under you will obey you; rectify your inner self and Allah will rectify your outer state

آفَةُ الْأَعْمَالِ عَجْزُ الْعُمَّالِ
The bane of works is the inability of the workers

تَوَلِّي الْأَرَاذِلِ وَالْأَحْدَاثِ الدُّوَلَ دَلِيلُ انْحِلَالِهَا وَإِدْبَارِهَا
The sovereignty of the vile and inexperienced over nations is the cause of their decline and regression

شَرُّ الْوُلَاةِ مَنْ يَخَافُهُ الْبَرِيءُ
The worst of rulers is one who is feared by the innocent

شَرُّ الْوُزَرَاءِ مَنْ كَانَ لِلْأَشْرَارِ وَزِيراً
The worst of viziers is one who is a vizier to the vicious

كَذِبُ السَّفِيرِ يُوَلِّدُ الْفَسَادَ وَيُفَوِّتُ الْمُرَادَ وَيُبْطِلُ الْحَزْمَ وَيَنْقُضُ الْعَزْمَ
The lies of an envoy give rise to corruption, cause the failure of the intended objective, nullify judiciousness and invalidate firm resolution

مَنْ خَانَهُ وَزِيرُهُ فَسَدَ تَدْبِيرُهُ
Whoever is betrayed by his vizier, his administration gets corrupted

وُزَرَاءُ السَّوْءِ أَعْوَانُ الظَّلَمَةِ وَإِخْوَانُ الْأَثَمَةِ
Evil viziers are the helpers of tyrants and the brothers of wrongdoers

طَلَبُ السُّلْطَانِ مِنْ خِدَاعِ الشَّيْطَانِ
Seeking power [and sovereignty] is from the deceptions of Satan
