الْعَدْلُ فَضِيلَةُ السُّلْطَانِ
Justice is a merit for the ruler

الْمُلُوكُ حُمَاةُ الدِّينِ
The kings are [supposed to be] defenders of the religion

إِمَامٌ عَادِلٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ مَطَرٍ وَابِلٍ
A just leader is better [and more beneficial] than heavy rainfall

الْعَدْلُ أَفْضَلُ السِّيَاسَتَيْنِ
Justice is the better of the two policies

أَفْضَلُ الْمُلُوكِ الْعَادِلُ
The best king is the just one

أَجَلُّ الْمُلُوكِ مَنْ مَلَكَ نَفْسَهُ وَبَسَطَ [منه] الْعَدْلَ
The most exalted of kings is one who has control over himself and spreads justice

إِنَّ الزُّهْدَ فِي وِلَايَةِ الظَّالِمِ بِقَدْرِ الرَّغْبَةِ فِي وِلَايَةِ الْعَادِلِ
Verily the renunciation of a tyrant’s reign is to the extent of the desire for the reign of a just ruler

تَاجُ الْمَلِكِ عَدْلُهُ
The king’s crown is his justice

جَمَالُ السِّيَاسَةِ الْعَدْلُ فِي الْإِمْرَةِ وَالْعَفْوُ مَعَ الْقُدْرَةِ
The beauty of politics is [maintaining] justice in authority and pardoning despite having power [to punish]

The best of policies is justice

دَوْلَةُ الْعَادِلِ مِنَ الْوَاجِبَاتِ
The coming to power of the just is from the necessities

دَوْلَةُ الْأَكَابِرِ [الْأَكَارِمِ] مِنْ أَفْضَلِ الْمَغَانِمِ
The sovereignty of the great (or honourable) people is one of the best of bounties

دَوْلَةُ الْعَاقِلِ كَالنَّسِيبِ يَحِنُّ إِلَى الْوُصْلَةِ
The reign of the intelligent one is like the relative who longs to unite [with his dear ones]

زَيْنُ الْمَلِكِ الْعَدْلُ
The adornment of kingship is justice

زَمَانُ الْعَادِلِ خَيْرُ الْأَزْمِنَةِ
The era of the just [ruler] is the best of eras

غَرِيزَةُ الْعَقْلِ تَحْدُو عَلَى اسْتِعْمَالِ الْعَدْلِ
The intrinsic nature of the intellect impels it to employ justice

لَيْسَ ثَوَابٌ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَهُ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ ثَوَابِ السُّلْطَانِ الْعَادِلِ وَالرَّجُلِ الْمُحْسِنِ
There is no reward with Allah, the Glorified, greater than the reward of a just ruler and a benevolent man

مِنْ أَعْوَدِ الْغَنَائِمِ دَوْلَةُ الْأَكَارِمِ [الْمَكَارِمِ]
The sovereignty of the honourable is one of the most beneficial gains

سِيَاسَةُ الْعَدْلِ ثَلَاثٌ لِينٌ فِي حَزْمٍ وَاسْتِقْصَاءٌ فِي عَدْلٍ وَإِفْضَالٌ فِي قَصْدٍ
The policy of justice comprises of three things: judiciousness in leniency, fairness in investigation and moderation in munificence
