ذم السؤال عن غير الله
الْخُطْوَةُ عِنْدَ الْخَالِقِ بِالرَّغْبَةِ فِيمَا لَدَيْهِ الْخُطْوَةُ عِنْدَ الْمَخْلُوقِ بِالرَّغْبَةِ عَمَّا فِي يَدَيْهِ
Favour is gained in the sight of the Creator by yearning for that which is with Him; favour is gained with the creatures by turning away from what they possess

إِنَّكُمْ إِنْ رَجَوْتُمُ اللَّهَ بَلَغْتُمْ آمَالَكُمْ وَإِنْ رَجَوْتُمْ غَيْرَ اللَّهِ خَابَتْ أَمَانِيُّكُمْ وَآمَالُكُمْ
Verily, if you have hope in Allah you will attain your hopes, but if you have hope in other than Allah then your hopes and aspirations will be frustrated

دَعَاكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ سُبْحَانَهُ فَنَفَرْتُمْ وَوَلَّيْتُمْ وَدَعَاكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ وَأَقْبَلْتُمْ
Your Lord, the Glorified, called you but you turned away and fled, and Satan called you so you responded and drew closer [to him]

مَنْ أَكْثَرَ مَسْأَلَةَ النَّاسِ ذَلَّ
One who increases his requests from people is humiliated

مَنْ صَانَ نَفْسَهُ عَنِ الْمَسَائِلِ جَلَّ
Whoever protects himself from asking others becomes exalted

مَنْ سَأَلَ غَيْرَ اللَّهِ اسْتَحَقَّ الْحِرْمَانَ
Whoever asks [from] other than Allah deserves to be deprived

لَا تَسْأَلُوا إِلَّا اللَّهَ سُبْحَانَهُ فَإِنَّهُ إِنْ أَعْطَاكُمْ أَكْرَمَكُمْ وَإِنْ مَنَعَكُمْ خَارَ لَكُمْ
Do not ask [from anyone] other than Allah, the Glorified, for indeed if He grants [your wishes to] you, He honours you [at the same time] and if He withholds from you, He does it for your own welfare [and benefit]
