في النار و دركاتها
النَّارُ غَايَةُ الْمُفَرِّطِينَ
Hellfire is the final end of the extremists

النَّاجُونَ مِنَ النَّارِ قَلِيلٌ لِغَلَبَةِ الْهَوَى وَالضَّلَالِ
Because of succumbing to vain desire and misguidance, [only a] few will be saved from hellfire

احْذَرُوا نَاراً حَرُّهَا شَدِيدٌ وَقَعْرُهَا بَعِيدٌ وَحُلِيُّهَا حَدِيدٌ
Be wary of the fire whose heat is intense, whose pit is deep and whose ornaments are made of [molten] iron

احْذَرُوا نَاراً لَجَبُهَا [لحبها] عَتِيدٌ وَلَهَبُهَا شَدِيدٌ وَعَذَابُهَا أَبَداً جَدِيدٌ
Be wary of the fire whose tumultuous blaze is ready, its flames are intense and its torment is forever renewed

أَلَا وَإِنِّي لَمْ أَرَ كَالْجَنَّةِ نَامَ طَالِبُهَا وَلَا كَالنَّارِ نَامَ هَارِبُهَا
Indeed, I have not seen any place whose seeker is in slumber like Paradise and any place whose fleer is in slumber like hellfire

إِنَّ أَهْلَ النَّارِ كُلُّ كَفُورٍ مَكُورٍ
Verily all disbelieving schemers are inmates of the fire

كَلَامُهُ ع فِي وَصْفِ جَهَنَّمَ غَمْرٌ قَرَارُهَا مُظْلِمَةٌ أَقْطَارُهَا حَامِيَةٌ قُدُورُهَا فَظِيعَةٌ أُمُورُهَا
He (‘a) also said in his description of hellfire: Its pits are engulfed [with fire], its sides are pitch-dark, its vessels are scorching hot and everything about it is horrid

كُلُّ بَلَاءٍ دُونَ النَّارِ عَافِيَةٌ
Every tribulation other than the fire [of hell] is [a means to] wellbeing

كَفَى بِجَهَنَّمَ نَكَالًا
Hell is sufficient as a punishment

لَيْسَ لِهَذَا الْجِلْدِ الرَّقِيقِ صَبْرٌ عَلَى النَّارِ
This tender skin does not have the tolerance to withstand the fire [of hell]

فِي وَصْفِ النَّارِ نَارٌ شَدِيدٌ كَلَبُهَا عَالٍ لَجَبُهَا سَاطِعٌ لَهَبُهَا مُتَأَجِّجٌ سَعِيرُهَا مُتَغَيِّظٌ زَفِيرُهَا بَعِيدٌ خُمُودُهَا ذَاكٍ وَقُودُهَا مُتَخَوِّفٌ وَعِيدُهَا
He (‘a) said in his description of hell: [It is] a fire whose burning is intense, its roar is loud, its flames are rising, its blaze is incinerating, its groans are terrifying, its abatement is remote, its fuel is igniting, [and] its horrors are terrifying

وَفْدُ النَّارِ أَبَداً مُعَذَّبُونَ
The inmates of hell are eternally tormented

وَارِدُ النَّارِ مُؤَبَّدُ الشَّقَاءِ
The one who enters hellfire is forever wretched

قَالَ ع فِي وَصْفِ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَظْعَنُ مُقِيمُهَا وَلَا يُفَادَى أَسِيرُهَا وَلَا تُقْصَمُ كُبُولُهَا وَلَا مُدَّةَ لِلدَّارِ فَتَفْنَى وَلَا أَجَلَ لِلْقَوْمِ فَيُقْضَى
He (‘a) said while describing hell: Its inmate cannot leave, its prisoner cannot be released by ransom and its shackles cannot be brokenThis abode has no fixed age so that it may perish, nor is there a lifespan for its inmates that they may pass away
