احذر من كل عمل...
احْذَرْ كُلَّ عَمَلٍ إِذَا سُئِلَ عَنْهُ صَاحِبُهُ [عَامِلُهُ] اسْتَحْيَا مِنْهُ وَأَنْكَرَهُ
Be wary of every action which, when its doer is asked about it, he feels ashamed and denies it

احْذَرْ مِنْ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ يُعْمَلُ فِي السِّرِّ وَيُسْتَحْيَا مِنْهُ فِي الْعَلَانِيَةِ
Be wary of every action that is done in private and causes embarrassment in public

احْذَرْ كُلَّ قَوْلٍ وَفِعْلٍ يُؤَدِّي إِلَى فَسَادِ الْآخِرَةِ وَالدِّينِ
Be cautious of every statement or action that will lead to the spoiling of your Hereafter and religion

احْذَرْ كُلَّ عَمَلٍ يَرْضَاهُ عَامِلُهُ لِنَفْسِهِ وَيَكْرَهُهُ لِعَامَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
Be wary of every action that the doer is pleased to perform himself but hates Muslims at large to perform

احْذَرُوا سُوءَ الْأَعْمَالِ وَغُرُورَ الْآمَالِ وَنَفَادَ الْأَمَلِ [الْمَهَلِ] وَهُجُومَ الْأَجَلِ
Be wary of bad deeds, deceptive aspirations, loss of hope and the sudden coming of death

إِيَّاكَ وَفِعْلَ الْقَبِيحِ فَإِنَّهُ يُقَبِّحُ ذِكْرَكَ وَيُكْثِرُ وِزْرَكَ
You must keep away from evil action, for indeed it dishonours your reputation and increases your burden

إِيَّاكَ وَكُلَّ عَمَلٍ يُنَفِّرُ عَنْكَ حُرّاً أَوْ يُذِلُّ لَكَ قَدْراً أَوْ يَجْلِبُ عَلَيْكَ شَرّاً أَوْ تَحْمِلُ بِهِ إِلَى الْقِيَامَةِ وِزْراً
Keep away from every act that repels the freeman from you, or lowers your status, or brings harm upon you, or because of which you have to bear a burden on the Day of Judgment

إِنَّكَ إِنْ عَمِلْتَ لِلدُّنْيَا خَسِرْتَ صَفْقَتَكَ
If you work for this world, your transaction will have made a loss

إِنَّكَ لَنْ تَلْقَى اللَّهَ سُبْحَانَهُ بِعَمَلٍ أَضَرَّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ حُبِّ الدُّنْيَا
Verily you will never meet Allah, the Glorified, with an action more harmful to you than love for this world

بِئْسَ الْعَمَلُ الْمَعْصِيَةُ
Avoid disobeying Allah and you will be successful

بِئْسَ الذُّخْرُ فِعْلُ الشَّرِّ
How bad a provision evil action is!

ثَمَرَةُ الْعَمَلِ السَّيِّئِ كَأَصْلِهِ
The fruit of evil action is [evil] like its root

جِمَاعُ الشَّرِّ فِي الِاغْتِرَارِ بِالْمَهَلِ وَالِاتِّكَالِ عَلَى الْعَمَلِ
The consolidation of evil is in being deceived by respite [from chastisement] and reliance on [one’s own] action

سُوءُ الْفِعْلِ دَلِيلُ لُؤْمِ الْأَصْلِ
Evil action is evidence of a vile origin

شَرُّ الْأَفْعَالِ مَا جَلَبَ الْآثَامَ
The worst action is that which results in sins

شَرُّ الْعَمَلِ مَا أَفْسَدْتَ بِهِ مَعَادَكَ
The worst act is that by which you spoil your Hereafter

كَمْ مِنْ مَخْدُوعٍ بِالْأَمَلِ مُضَيِّعٍ لِلْعَمَلِ
How many a person is deluded by hopes, [and] ends up wasting his actions!

مَنْ عَمِلَ لِلدُّنْيَا خَسِرَ
One who works for this world makes a loss

مَنْ يُقَصِّرْ فِي الْعَمَلِ يَزْدَدْ فَتْرَةً
One who falls short in his action increases his lassitude

مَنْ قَصَّرَ فِي الْعَمَلِ ابْتَلَاهُ اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ بِالْهَمِّ وَلَا حَاجَةَ لِلَّهِ فِيمَنْ لَيْسَ لَهُ فِي نَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ نَصِيبٌ
Whoever falls short in [his] action, Allah, the Glorified, afflicts him with distress; and Allah has no need for one who spares nothing of himself or his wealth [for attaining His pleasure]

مَنْ قَصَّرَ عَنْ فِعْلِ الْخَيْرِ خَسِرَ وَنَدِمَ
One who is falls short in performing good deeds, loses and regrets

رُبَّ صَغِيرٍ مِنْ عَمَلِكَ تَسْتَكْبِرُهُ
Many a small action [that you do] is considered by you as being great

فَاعِلُ الشَّرِّ شَرٌّ مِنْهُ
The doer of evil is worse than the evil [itself]

التَّقْصِيرُ فِي الْعَمَلِ لِمَنْ وَثِقَ بِالثَّوَابِ عَلَيْهِ غَبْنٌ
Falling short in action, for the one who is certain of its reward, is foolishness
