احذر من الدنيا
ارْفِضُوا هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا ذَمِيمَةً فَقَدْ رَفَضَتْ مَنْ كَانَ أَشْعَفَ بِهَا مِنْكُمْ
Reject this world as a dispraised thing, for it has rejected one who loves it more passionately than you

اهْرُبُوا مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَاصْرِفُوا قُلُوبَكُمْ عَنْهَا فَإِنَّهَا سِجْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ حَظُّهُ مِنْهَا قَلِيلٌ وَعَقْلُهُ بِهَا عَلِيلٌ وَنَاظِرُهُ فِيهَا كَلِيلٌ
Flee from this world and divert your hearts from it, for it is the prison of a believer his share of it is little and his mind is sickened by it and his sight is dulled in it

ارْفُضُوا هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا التَّارِكَةَ لَكُمْ وَإِنْ لَمْ تُحِبُّوا تَرْكَهَا وَالْمُبْلِيَةَ أَجْسَادَكُمْ عَلَى مَحَبَّتِكُمْ لِتَجْدِيدِهَا
Reject this world which will [shortly] abandon you even if you do not like to leave it, and which will make your bodies [grow] old even if you would like to have them rejuvenated

احْذَرُوا الزَّائِلَ الشَّهِيَّ وَالْفَانِيَ الْمَحْبُوبَ [احْذَرِ الزَّائِلَ الشَّهِيَّ الْفَانِيَ وَالْمَحْبُوبَ]
Be cautious of the vanishing desirable and the perishing beloved

احْذَرِ الدُّنْيَا فَإِنَّهَا شَبَكَةُ الشَّيْطَانِ وَمَفْسَدَةُ الْإِيمَانِ
Be cautious of this world, for it is the net of the devil and the [place of] corruption of faith

أَحْسَنُ مِنْ مُلَابَسَةِ الدُّنْيَا رَفْضُهَا
The best garment (or better than wearing the garment) of this world is renouncing it

رَحِمَ اللَّهُ امْرَأً غَالَبَ الْهَوَى وَأَفْلَتَ مِنْ حَبَائِلِ الدُّنْيَا
May Allah have mercy upon the person who fights his vain desire and breaks loose from the entanglements of this world

رُبَّ مَحْذُورٍ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا عِنْدَكَ غَيْرُ مُحْتَسَبٍ
Many a thing which one should be cautious of in this world is not taken into consideration by you

كُنْ آنَسَ مَا تَكُونُ بِالدُّنْيَا أَحْذَرَ مَا تَكُونُ مِنْهَا
Be most cautious of this world when you are most at ease with it

مَنْ أَحَبَّ رِفْعَةَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ فَلْيَمْقُتْ فِي الدُّنْيَا الرِّفْعَةَ
One who loves [to acquire] the prestige of [both] this world and the Hereafter must detest prestige in this world

مِلَاكُ التُّقَى رَفْضُ الدُّنْيَا
The basis of God-wariness is rejection of this world

لَا تَيْأَسْ مِنَ الزَّمَانِ إِذَا مَنَعَ وَلَا تَثِقْ بِهِ إِذَا أَعْطَى وَكُنْ مِنْهُ عَلَى أَعْظَمِ الْحَذَرِ
Do not lose hope in time when it withholds, and do not rely upon it when it gives, and always be extremely cautious of it
