مصاحب الدنيا
مُصَاحِبُ [مُصَاحَبَةُ] الدُّنْيَا هَدَفُ النَّوَائِبِ وَالْغِيَرِ
One who accompanies this world is a target of calamities and mishaps

الدُّنْيَا لَا تَصْفُو لِشَارِبٍ وَلَا تَفِي لِصَاحِبٍ
This world is neither clean for any drinker [to drink from] nor is it loyal to any owner

الزَّمَانُ يَخُونُ [مَنْ] صَاحَبَهُ وَلَا يَسْتَعْتِبُ لِمَنْ عَاتَبَهُ
Time betrays its companion and does not please the one who blames it

إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا تُخْلِقُ الْأَبْدَانَ وَتُجَدِّدُ الْآمَالَ وَتُقَرِّبُ الْمَنِيَّةَ وَتُبَاعِدُ الْأُمْنِيَّةَ كُلَّمَا اطْمَأَنَّ [بِهَا] صَاحِبُهَا مِنْهَا إِلَى سُرُورٍ أَشْخَصَتْهُ مِنْهَا إِلَى مَحْذُورٍ
Verily this world wears out the bodies, renews hopes, brings death near and takes aspirations far awayEvery time its inhabitant becomes contented and pleased with it, it sends him back to adversity

إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا لَمَشْغَلَةٌ عَنِ الْآخِرَةِ لَمْ يُصِبْ صَاحِبُهَا مِنْهَا سَيْباً إِلَّا فَتَحَتْ عَلَيْهِ حِرْصاً عَلَيْهَا وَلَهَجاً بِهَا
Verily this world is a means of distraction from the HereafterIts companion obtains nothing from it except that it opens for him [the door of] greed for it and attachment towards it

جَارُ الدُّنْيَا مَحْرُوبٌ وَمَوْفُورُهَا مَنْكُوبٌ
The one who seeks refuge in this world is ruined and the one who takes his fill from it is destroyed

مَنْ أَمِنَ الزَّمَانَ خَانَهُ وَمَنْ أَعْظَمَهُ أَهَانَهُ
Whoever feels safe from time is betrayed by it and whoever regards it as great is humiliated by it
