الْعُلَمَاءُ حُكَّامٌ عَلَى النَّاسِ
The scholars are judges over the people

الْعَالِمُ حَيٌّ وَإِنْ كَانَ مَيِّتاً
The scholar is alive even when he is dead

الْعَالِمُ يَنْظُرُ بِقَلْبِهِ وَخَاطِرِهِ وَالْجَاهِلُ يَنْظُرُ بِعَيْنِهِ وَنَاظِرِهِ
The scholar sees with his heart and his mind while the ignorant one sees with his eyes and his eyesight

الْعُلَمَاءُ بَاقُونَ مَا بَقِيَ اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ
Scholars live on as long as the day and night remains

الْعُلَمَاءُ غُرَبَاءُ لِكَثْرَةِ الْجُهَّالِ
Scholars are strangers [in their own land] because of the large numbers of ignorant people

الْعَالِمُ حَيٌّ بَيْنَ الْمَوْتَى
The scholar is a living [person] among the dead

رُتْبَةُ الْعَالِمِ [الْعِلْمِ] أَعْلَى الْمَرَاتِبِ
The rank of a scholar is the highest of ranks

عَالِمٌ مُعَانِدٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ جَاهِلٍ مُسَاعِدٍ
A scholar who opposes you is better than the ignorant person who assists you

مَا مَاتَ مَنْ أَحْيَا [أَحْيَلَ] عِلْماً
He who enlivens knowledge does not die

مَعْرِفَةُ الْعَالِمِ دِينٌ يُدَانُ بِهِ يَكْسِبُ الْإِنْسَانُ الطَّاعَةَ فِي حَيَاتِهِ وَجَمِيلَ الْأُحْدُوثَةِ بَعْدَ وَفَاتِهِ
The cognizance of a scholar is the devoutness through which Allah is worshipped, through it the human being gains obedience in his lifetime and a beautiful remembrance after his death
